"An excellent professor"

I remember Ted Lowi as very inspirational. During my college years, several of us formed something called the Cornell Internship Program, which was focused largely, although not exclusively, on internships in Washington, DC. Among those working on it originally were John Bickerman, Alan Magdovitz, [and me]. (There were others, but 40 years hence, I don't remember all the originals.)

I spoke with Ted Lowi about our fledgling Cornell Internship Program, and he (along with my Government advisor, Arch Dotson) was very keen on seeing Cornell develop a permanent program in Washington, DC.  Within a few years, Cornell would open the Cornell in Washington program, in which both Ted Lowi and Arch Dotson were involved. Introduction to American Politics and his textbook American Government were popular classics for a reason -- excellent teaching.

Ted Lowi was an excellent professor. I can only imagine discussing the politics of the last couple of years with him.
