[Professor Lowi] was my first American government professor at Cornell and solidified my pursuit of a degree in government. I was fortunate to have him right when he had published The Personal President which was one of the texts for the class at the time of the Reagan administration. To this day I give him credit for inspiring my deep and lasting interest in American government and our political system.


I can still hear his southern drawl....
